NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE SUTTER COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION

Notice is given that at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2004, in the City of Yuba City City Council Chambers at 1201 Civic Center Boulevard, the Sutter County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) will conduct a public hearing on the following item:

LAFCO #04-01: South Sutter Recreation and Parks District Formation - The proposal consists of the formation of a Recreation and Park district to provide public recreation consistent with Public Resources Code §5780 et seq. in southern Sutter County. The district is proposed to be financed by a combination of user fees and, if approved by the registered voters of the district, by a special tax in the annual amount of $45.00 per parcel that is developed with a residence, and subject to increase (by action of the district board) by an annual amount no greater than the percentage increase of the Consumer Price Index-U (CPI-U) from the prior year. The boundaries of the proposed district would comprise all of south Sutter County lying south of Yuba County, easterly of the Feather and Sacramento Rivers, west of Placer County, and north of Sacramento County.

Copies of the Executive Officer's report on this matter will be available at the Local Agency Formation Commission's office (Sutter County Community Services Department), 1130 Civic Center Boulevard, Yuba City, CA, fives day prior to the hearing. All interested parties are invited to attend and express their opinions or provide written comments. If you challenge the proposed project in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the Commission at, or prior to, the hearing.
