NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE SUTTER COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
Notice is given that at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday February 26, 2004, in the City of Yuba City City Council Chambers at 1201 Civic Center Boulevard, Yuba City, California, the Sutter County Local Agency Formation Commission will conduct a public hearing on the following item:
LAFCO-03-06: Tierra Buena Reorganization No. 318 - A reorganization proposing to annex approximately 518 acres to Yuba City and detach the property from County Service Area G and the Consolidated Street Lighting District for the purposes of addressing water quality issues associated with the City’s groundwater system in the area. The affected territory is generally located west of Tierra Buena Road and Harter Road on the north side of State Highway 20 and generally includes those properties served by the city’s ground water well system which was the former Hillcrest Water Company. The boundaries of the proposal were established by LAFCO at its January 22, 2004, public hearing through the adoption of Resolution 2004-03. The proposal was initiated by the city of Yuba City.
Written protests against either the annexation and detachments or the dissolution of the Tierra Buena CSD may be filed by property owners within the area of the reorganization or registered voters residing within the annexation boundaries or within the boundaries of the Tierra Buena CSD. Protests may be mailed to Sutter LAFCO, P.O. Box 1555, Yuba City, CA 95991 or delivered to the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission at the protest hearing. Each protest must state whether it is made by a landowner or a registered voter and have the date the protest was signed. Property owner protests must include the name and address of the protestor, and a street address or parcel number identifying the location of the land; a registered voter’s protest must show the protester’s name and address as it appears on the registered voter’s registration. Each written protest must be filed no later than the conclusion of the hearing to be considered valid. The value of protests received will be determined within 30 days of the hearing in accordance with Government Code Section 57075. For more information, please call (530) 822-7400.
